Are you a crafter who is looking to create and print graphics on clothing, signage, home decorations, products that are long-lasting and feature distinct colors and high-resolution quality? You can use sublimation to achieve vibrant, everlasting designs and graphics. The term sublimation might make the process sound hard and techy, but it’s simple to understand. Let me explain.
What is sublimation printing and why is it so effective?
Sublimation is the process in which the ink turns into gas without going through a liquid stage. In other words, the design is first printed and infused onto the desired printing paper. Which means there’s no mess, little cleaning up to do, which makes this an easy process. The sheet of paper is then placed on a polyester coated product using a high temperature heat press. The heat from the heat press then transfers the design from the sublimation paper to the object by penetrating, and adhering to the fibers on the object during the gaseous state. Since the design is now in the fabric or object after successful transfer, and not glued on. You won’t feel the material. The design will be smooth and permanent. There’s no waiting for the ink to dry. And no, we are not talking about the type of gas that you can put in your car or when a person passes gas. This type of gas is from a special sublimation ink. It doesn’t have a odor (in my experience).
